I mean FUCKING REALLY! This community has numerous major quality of life issues like illegal conversions, illegal parking of tractor trailer trucks, illegally placed junked & unlicensed vehicles on residential streets and sidewalks by the many thug auto body shops, illegal truck driving on residential streets, illegally blocked sidewalks of displays/merchandise on Jamaica Ave by crap retail, illegal parking pads, garbage strewn vacant lots/vacant homes, the dumping of poisonous waste transfer stations (Royal Waste) in residential areas, the dumping of dozen of homeless shelters in the area, poor street/sidewalk conditions, shootings, gangs and oh let’s not forget the granddaddy of them all MOUNDS & MOUNDS OF GARBAGE all over, yet Senator James Sanders has time to be a “Shuck & Jive” host of Jamaica’s version of “Who’s Got Talent”.
Well, we know who does not have talent in the public service category, our useless elected officials (Senator Tony Avella being the exception).
What is next, Councilman Ruben Will’s (the deadbeat father behind on child support, who already did an event on being a good father) hosting “Who’s Your Baby’s Daddy” or Senator Leroy Comrie hosting “The Biggest Loser”.
From Queens Times Ledger:
Evening to showcase talent of borough parents
For Queens mothers and fathers who can sing, dance, make people laugh or have other talents, state Sen. James Sanders (D-South Ozone Park) is hosting a talent show in Jamaica next week that will provide them with a platform to show off their talents.
The show, which has been dubbed “Who’s Got Talent?,” will take place June 17 at Catherine and Count Basie Middle School 72 at 133-25 Guy R. Brewer Blvd. from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m.
The event is being billed as a post-Mother’s Day, pre-Father’s Day extravaganza. Attendance is free, but participants must be a parent and be 21 years of age or older. To sign up for the talent show or to get tickets starting June 10, contact Sanders’ district office at (718) 523-3069 or (718) 327-7017.
Comedian Ray DeJon, host of the television shows “Video Music Box” and “Laffaholics Live,” will serve as the special guest emcee.
The winners will be selected by a panel of big name celebrity judges who are prominent figures in the entertainment industry. Details on the panel will be coming out soon.
Some of the prizes will include merchandise from designer Steve Madden and Bad Boy Entertainment. Light refreshments will be served.
