I see the Jamaica Now Action Plan is going really well and the Jamaica Now Leadership Council is doing a bang-up job.
GOOD WORK ALL. Good work, Katz, Meeks, Flake, Miller, Comrie, Hydnman, Wills, Cook. As George Bush said so infamously to former FEMA Chief Mike Brown after the Katrina hurricane disaster:
Brownie, you’re doing a heckuva job”.
Yep, Jamaica Leadership, you’re doing a heckuva job!
From a reader:
My morning bike commute to work finds more illegal dumping along the Van Wyck service road near 94ave. 138pl along side the renovated and very beautiful Howard Van Dolhen park is a disgrace! No dignity, courage, or self respect from the local community. Then again they follow their leader’s, and we all know the fish rots from the head down. The service road along the Van Wyck is a disgrace. What a way to make tourist feel unwelcome and threatened when heading north along the Van Wyck. Cracked sidewalks, broken bottles, illegal dumping, barely any trees along route, homeless hotel, drug treatment center, homeless begging for change at the 94ave light… WELCOME TO JAMAICA! Not one of our so called leaders can get the sidewalks fixed, clean up the litter, have street artists paint a airport themed mural along the LIRR underpass, line the service roads with trees, and why not get a pleasant sign along the LIRR bridge that says “Welcome to Jamaica, gateway to JFK”. No vision in this community, only ghetto men from its leaders and citizens.
