DEBLASIO BUILDING/FIXING UP TO 50 SOCCER FIELDS IN UNDERSERVED COMMUNITIES – BUT WHY ARE SOME COMMUNITIES UNDERSERVED TO BEGIN WITH – THAT IS THE IMPORTANT QUESTION

BUT why are certain communities UNDERSERVED to begin with. I mean that is what causes problems and issues in communties to  begin with, so then these soccer fields are going to solve everything. I get doing this, but why just stop there, how about making these communities NOT UNDERSERVED. How about when people complain about quality  of life issues TAKING CARE OF THE DAMN ISSUES.

I don’t get government, especially fucked up NYC government that will give a useless city council a whopping 32% raise for doing nothing, stealing, cheating, etc.

The city will build and fix up to 50 soccer fields in underserved neighborhoods across the five boroughs as part of a $3 million public private partnership that will bring the beautiful game to the Big Apple.

The new fields – some of which will open as early as next year – will increase access to the sport, and give at risk kids a leg up in life, Mayor de Blasio said Tuesday.

“In this most global of cities … soccer is one of the things that everyone understands, and it’s something that helps New York City to be more harmonious, and more unified,” de Blasio said during an announcement in the South Bronx.

He said childhood obesity rates in the South Bronx are four times higher than in nearby Manhattan – and that soccer can help lower them.

Ed Foster-Simeon, the president of the U.S. Soccer Foundation, said that soccer is great for kids because it appeals to both boys and girls, and builds skills like perseverance, teamwork and how to win and lose.

“Those things that carry a person through life,” he said.

The fields will be paid for by the city, the U.S. Soccer Foundation, New York City Football Club, and adidas.

Soccer has caused some issues for the de Blasio family.

The mayor, whose grandparents came from Italy, said his whole family supports the Italian team Napoli from the city of Naples, except for his teen son Dante.

Dante roots for the Turin-based club Juventus.

“(It’s caused) tremendous conflict in the family, but we’re going to work it through,” he joked.
