While no doubt cop brutality is an issue (which we have seen several cases recently), the media plays it out like it is a regular daily thing, like shootings of civilians by other civilians in communities of color. Why does this tend to play out more than the continuous civilian on civilian shootings in black communities. Why do we all think that the latter is just par for the course. There is something wrong with that type of thinking. I mean if this was happening in white areas with white civilians, do you think we would be viewing this as “par for the course”. Food for thought.
Tell me exactly how many cop brutality cases in Jamaica, let’s say in the past five years, NOW tell me the cases of civilian shooting other civilians in Jamaica/Southeast Queens.
So why doesn’t this happen in LIC, Forest Hills, Rego Park, Flushing, Sunnyside, Woodside, Astoria, yet happens constantly in Jamaica/Southeast Queens.
By the way, we do have a fucked up prison system, but here is a solution and think about it.
BOYCOTT that system. More food for thought.
