LEROY COMRIE & MELINDA KATZ ATTEND JAMAICA STREET NAMING CEREMONY THAT IS WORTH MENTIONING

comrie-miller-hyndman-jpg2Now here is a Jamaica street naming ceremony that has been long overdue and worth mentioning. The ceremony took place in front of 107-58 164th and was attended by Senator Leroy Comrie and Queens Borough President Melinda Katz.

Both Comrie & Katz said that this street naming ceremony was long overdue (in fact YEARS) and exemplifies what can happen when caring driven elected officials come together for a common goal to better the community. Also in attendance Councilman I.Daneek Miller and newly elected Councilman Clyde Vanel. Katz and Comrie even got into the act with their silver plated shovels to break ground for the new sign post that will be erected.

Unfortunately The Reverend Jeffery Shawn Thompson of Amity Baptist Church & Rev. Mark E. Marsh of Community Church of Christ, both a few blocks away were unable to attend the ceremony.

More proud moments in Jamaica’s history.
