No wonder no one trust the media anymore. Between sensational news, poor reporting, incorrect facts and then the whole fake news bullshit, we are in dark times, but not just because a con man is going to be President, but for at least a decade journalism has gone downhill big time.
And this Daily News article is an example. It starts with “The city’s growing hate epidemic spread ….”. Yes, in November so-called hate crimes increased by double from 20 last year to 43 cases this year, BUT AN EPIDEMIC. Give me a break. First off, this so-called Democratic liberal progressive city has always had it’s share of racism and hate from the beginning of time, this is nothing new, but to say it is an epidemic, this is just like the rag Queens Times Ledger talking about a hunger epidemic in Queens (I mean really, have you every seen any malnourished, skin and bones people in Queens, I mean I have certainly seen tons of fat and obese adults and kids, but starving). This whole hate thing is nothing new, maybe more people are coming forward to report it, but this is nothing new, but not an epidemic.
But many New Yorkers are filled with hate and anger, but not for the racism factor. This city breeds hatred, especially from crooked, do-nothing elected officials who seem to always been giving out something to the lower-class and homeless, but a big FUCK YOU to the majority of hard working middle class folks, some who have two, three jobs to stay afloat and then pitting us all against each other. Yet every day we have to deal with a shitty subway system that does not work properly, is overcrowded and then to top it off, some cars are filled with smelly, disgusting homeless people that one cannot even sit in a car and must crowd onto another car. Just today, the typical single homeless man was sprawled out asleep or drunk on the entire steps of the 57th Street station with all his garbage. Then this asshole Mayor is turning Queens and other places into homeless villages with his poor homeless policy issues of sticking homeless into hotels (which is illegal) and placing them in especially middle class communities and especially communities of color like Jamaica and hence he quality of life goes down because of this and property values drop. Not to mention this bullshit “right to shelter” policy which brings people from all over the country and world to plop down in NYC courtesy of the hard-working tax payers of all colors and religions.
Then there is the complete lack of all kinds of enforcement from illegal garbage dumping, illegal conversions, shady construction, illegal truck driving on residential streets, poor street conditions, auto body shops and dealers placing unlicensed and junked cars all over public streets and sidewalks, storefront placing on their crap way past the legal limit on sidewalks, where one can barely walk. Then the fucking noise, the over-development, everyone on top of each other. Yeah, there is a hate epidemic, a hate of this city and overpaid elected officials who create this hate and the fucked up corrupt city agencies like DHS, DOB and DOT.
Try reporting on FACTS and stop sensationalizing everything because most of us here in NYC are FUCKING FEED UP with the never-ending BULLSHIT.
From The Daily News:
Soha Salama of Astoria, Queens, an MTA worker, was wearing her uniform and a hijab when a passenger harassed her around 7 a.m. aboard a Manhattan-bound 7 train.
“He attacked me,” Salama told the Daily News. “He called me a terrorist and told me to go back to your country.”
When the 45-year-old victim exited the train at Grand Central, the passenger followed her, chanting “you shouldn’t work for MTA.”
The assailant, described by police as an Hispanic man, then pushed the mother of four as she was walking up a flight of stairs.
Salama said another man stood up for her and chased him off before police arrived.
“I was scared to be killed,” Salama said, her voice cracking as she spoke early Tuesday.
Salama came to the United States from Egypt 20 years ago and she says the attack has made her fearful for herself and her two teen daughters, who wear hijabs.
“I felt more safe with the Obama administration and now I don’t know what will happen with me and my kids and if they’ll be victims of hate crimes,” she said.
“We are working people,” Salama added. “We pay our taxes, we don’t deserve to be treated like that.”
Last Thursday, Yasmin Seweid, 18, was taunted on a 6 train by several drunken men shouting “Donald Trump” who called her a terrorist and told her to take the “rag” off her head.
Seweid, who is Muslim, was also wearing a hijab.
The crimes were part of a growing number of hate-inspired offenses that have plagued New York in the weeks since Donald Trump’s election.
According to police statistics, hate crimes in the city more than doubled last month — with more than 43 cases, compared with just 20 in November 2015.
Jews were targeted in 24 of the 43 incidents last month, officials said.
For the same month, the number of hate crimes targeting Muslims went from two in 2015 to four this year.
“We do not allow intolerance or fear to divide us because we know diversity is our strength, and we are at our best when we stand united,” Gov. Cuomo said in a statement Monday.
Last month, state Sen. Brad Hoylman (D-Manhattan) was targeted three separate times with anti-Semitic hate.
Hoylman, who represents Chelsea, Greenwich Village, the East Village and the Lower East Side, notified authorities last Tuesday night after a staffer at his district office opened an email containing threats that he and his family be burned alive.
On Nov. 19, a pamphlet featuring a masked figure with a sword slashing through symbols of Islam, peace, the gay and lesbian community and Judaism was sent to his home.
Days earlier, on Nov. 15, a vandal carved two swastikas on a service door in Hoylman’s Greenwich Village building along Fifth Ave. near Washington Square Park.
No one has been arrested for any of the incidents.
“New York will continue to set the example for the nation — safeguarding our diversity and our differences, and rooting out bigotry and hatred wherever it exists.”
Mayor de Blasio blamed the President-elect directly for the climate that has given rise to bigoted attacks.
De Blasio shared his concern as he sat next to a city cop, Aml Elsokary, a Muslim who was off duty when a man threatened to kill her after she confronted him over pushing her 16-year-old son on a Bay Ridge streetcorner Saturday.
Elsokary was wearing her hijab when Nelson cursed her.
“You guys think this is a joke,” Nelson said, according to a criminal complaint. “I’ll slit your throat, you ISIS (expletive).”
Police said he then tried to sic his pit bull on them — but the dog did not attack.
“Do I blame Donald Trump for using hate speech during his campaign?” de Blasio said. “Absolutely. He did. It’s a fact. He said horrible things about Muslims, horrible things about Mexican-Americans.”
