OLD JAMAICA FARTS BLOWING IN THE WIND

Big Daddy from “Cat on a Hot Tin Roof”:

What’s that smell in this room? Didn’t you notice it, Brick? Didn’t you notice a powerful and obnoxious odor of mendacity in this room?… There ain’t nothin’ more powerful than the odor of mendacity… You can smell it. It smells like death.

  1. Single greatest, most-fitting, most carefully thought-out caption to any photograph in an political blog, ever.
If you took a poll of all the people in that damn room and asked everyone for the definition of ‘mendacity’, what percentage do you think would know?
One thing that’s certain is that Comrie’s answer to the question of the smell in the room would be: ‘Oh Yeah: eggs, bacon, and hashbrowns, Bru!’
There was no description of the date, the place, the ‘purpose’ of the event, or invitees, but it almost doesn’t matter, and never mattered.
Just one more of hundreds these people have attended to enjoy some free chow, press enough flesh to convince themselves that their governement sinecures remain secure, and congratulate each other on a ‘job well done!’
This is one for the ages.
