ELECTED OFFICIALS: TIME TO SHUT DOWN IRRESPONSIBLE DIRTY SLAUGHTERHOUSES IN JAMAICA AND OTHER RESIDENTIAL AREAS

There is no fucking reason that barbaric dirty poorly managed slaughterhouses like Jamaica’s Aziz should even exists in downtown Jamaica or any area in NYC where there are residents, stores and traffic, especially when these filthy disgusting places have large animals such as bulls, steers, cows and goats. This is not a place for these damn places for a variety of reasons. One the smell alone, especially during the summer is offensive to residents. Since the ones in Jamaica are poorly managed and several large animals have escaped from the various barbaric Halal slaughterhouses, not only are the poor animals in danger and  exhausted as was the case with the poor bull who escaped from Aziz, but there is a major safety issue here for people walking and people driving, not too mention all of the manpower of NYPD and other agencies they are needed for such incidents.

This has happened so many times since I have been here and it has only been 6 years. Elected officials, do the right thing and shut these places down that are located in residential areas or in close proximity, I mean this is not some fucking farm or some shit hole third world country for Christ’s sake. One, Hala Live Slaughterhouse (92-56 165th St),  is smack right in the middle of downtown Jamaica and just last year had a steer and a goat escape and run loose before authorities captured them and they were placed in animal sanctuaries. Aziz (151-24 Beaver Rd), where this bull escaped from today is also located in the downtown area not far from York College and the LIRR subway station.

According to New York Times an animal sanctuary in New Jersey agreed to accept the bull which escaped from Aziz today, and the authorities drove him to a city shelter in East New York, Brooklyn, to wait to be picked up. But the bull was pronounced dead at the shelter at 1:50 p.m. the police said. How this poor animal had to suffer from the stress and exhaustion of running all over Jamaica as police and other vehicles followed him, which can be seen in the photos below.

ENOUGH, SHUT THESE HELL HOLES down in residential areas and better yet, change the laws where all slaughterhouses must have all glass walls so everyone can see how these animals are treated and how that food gets to people’s plates.

ENOUGH.

Downtown Jamaica, third world shithole. UNBELIEVABLE.

  1. I Saw the video of the action and I noticed the two guys in what look like smocks or lab coat, and I wondered, were those 2 of the imbeciles that work in that shit/slaughterhouse?

I am not going to give up eating meat, sorry burgers, steaks and ribs are so delicious, but I totally condone shutting down this dump since the people running it have shit for brains.

I don’t know if it’s still there, although the market for halal is pretty big in these parts so it might, there is another one in Ozone Park by the abandoned rail line. To be fair, nothing huge has escaped yet around there.

    • I have no issue with people eating meat, my choice is I don’t, but to put these places whether they are managed properly or not (like these ones) should not be in the middle of residential areas, I mean that is just common sense and civil, two words which don’t go with SE Queens.

  2. Hello, I am the organizer of the vigil last night at Aziz. I would love to talk further about collaborating to shut this place down, and get all slaughterhouses out of NYC. Please let me know how I can contact you directly.
    Thank you,
    Heather
