ANOTHER CVS AND ANOTHER PHARMACY COMING TO HILLSIDE AVENUE – REALLY, HOW MANY FUCKING PHARMACIES DOES A COMMUNITY NEED

If you look around this community of Jamaica, you see the pattern of the SAME OLD RETAIL just repeating itself over and over. I mean just look at Hillside Avenue and Jamaica Avenue. Jamaica has over 13 beauty and supply stores when I counted several years ago, probably up to 20 now with a new one that just opened not too long ago on Jamaica Avenue. Every block on Jamaica and Hillside has a 99 cent store, some blocks with two and next to each other. Of course every bullshit medical crap place is everywhere, I now see that on Hillside and 173rd a “Dialysis” place is coming near Petland.

Another fucking Pharmacy, where already there are about 6 within blocks of each other

AND then there are the what seems like hundreds of fucking pharmacies on every other block. NOW a CVS will  be taking space at the new apartment building that is already in construction phase at Hillside Avenue and 178th Street. REALLY, there is already a CVS at Hillside and 173rd Street, plus at Hillside and 175th is a Walgreens and the drug place, LAB CORP, has a sign on the bottom of “Star Pharmacy” coming. Of course littered all over Hillside Avenue from 172nd Street to Sutphin Blvd are tons of “Pharmacias”, one block has two almost near each other between 170th and 171st.

I mean WHAT THE FUCK. How is this “progress” or improving the community of Jamaica. Seems more like “laundering money businesses” than anything else.

A CVS/pharmacy will be taking space at the bottom of an upcoming mixed-use project in Downtown Jamaica, Queens, according to property records.

In an agreement with the developer, Westbury, Long Island-based Piermont Properties, dated Feb. 1, and recorded with the city yesterday, CVS Health secured a 25-year lease for a CVS/pharmacy to occupy 10,462 square feet of ground-floor space at 178-02 Hillside Avenue. The taking rent was $57 per square foot, a source told Commercial Observer.

Bank of the Ozarks provided a $38.5 million senior construction loan to Piermont on Feb. 1, as CO previously reported, in order to erect the eight-story 176,130-square-foot development at 179th Street. It will include 131 apartments, plus 25,000 square feet for medical offices on the lower level and a public parking facility.

It wasn’t clear if CVS had a broker in the deal. Neither executives at Piermont nor spokespeople for CVS immediately responded to a request for comment.

  1. DoJam?!!! Fake News Alert!!!

No fucking way they are renaming towns in this borough to bring a bogus veneer of hipness and to fabricate real estate market rate values.

This is like the bogus town East Williamsburgh (It’s Bushwick, always has been always will) and the notorious ProCro mutation of the border in Prospect Gardens and Crown Heights.

These fiends have no sense of decency.
